MSU Women's Golf Makes NCAA Tournament!

For the third straight year of its five year history, the Midwestern State Mustangs have been selected to the NCAA Division II Women's Golf West Regional.
 
The NCAA Division II Women's Golf Committee announced the regional selections Monday afternoon, naming the Mustangs the sixth seed in the nine-team tournament that will be played Monday, May 5 through Wednesday, May 8 at the Walnut Creek Country Club in Mansfield.
 
MSU joins Tarleton State, the number two seed, and West Texas A&M, the number eight seed, in representing the Lone Star Conference in the field.
 
St. Edward's of the Heartland Conference is the top seed, with Tarleton second, Division II newcomer California Baptist of the Pacific West Conference third, Dallas Baptist of the Heartland fourth and Chico State (Calif.) of the California Collegiate Athletic Association fifth.
 
MSU is sixth, with Hawaii-Hilo of the Pac West, seventh, WT eighth and Cal State-East Bay of the CCCA.
 
Four individuals were also selected to participate in the regional.  Cal State Monterey Bay's Audra Kepler of the CCAA, Hee-Leina Kim of Colorado State-Pueblo of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, the Lone Star Conference's Chantry McMahan of Texas A&M-Commerce and Kristen Hansen of Western Washington of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference will join the nine teams.
 
The top three teams and top three individuals not on those teams will advance to the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship on May 14-17 at Rock Barn Golf and Spa in Conover, N.C.
