Red Cross Volunteers Head to Arkansas

Posted: Updated:
Volunteers with the North Central Texas Chapter of Red Cross are headed to Arkansas to help residents recover from the recent tornadoes that hit the area.

John Burge and Joe Rainwater left Wichita Falls around 7:00a.m. on Tuesday.  They are headed to Little Rock, Arkansas and will visit several communities affected by the twisters.

The volunteers brought the emergency response vehicle with them, which will help them provide various items for people in the communities.  The executive director of the Red Cross said the truck is capable of carrying 500 meals.  They will be able to provide the people with whatever they need so they can stay in the towns and clean up.

The tornado outbreak flattened neighborhoods in Arkansas and several other states.

The death toll from the past two days is 28.
