After School Fishing Program

Kids in Wichita Falls will be able to take part in the After School Fishing Program next week.

The Wichita Falls Parks and Recreation Department and the Texas Parks and Wildlife will kick off the program on May 6th at the South Weeks Pond.  The program will start at 4:30p.m. and kids can try reeling in the fish until 6:00p.m.  The program will run on May 6th, 8th, 13th, and 15th.

There is a limited space so make sure to sign your child up.  All you have to do is call (940) 761-7490.  You can also register at the Wichita Falls Recreation Office located on the 2nd floor of the Public Library.

    Since the 1950's the Wichita County Mounted Patrol Rodeo brought in crowds from all across Texoma. After unexpectedly shutting down in 2011 due to financial issues it is coming back and better than ever. Former Steer Wrestling World Champion Mickey Gee told me there is nothing better than a Texas rodeo. The Wichita county native spent many years attending the WCMP Rodeo with his father and knew when the gates closed in 2011 he had to do something to bring it back.
