WFISD School Bond Fails

Wichita Falls residents made it very clear Saturday, they are not ready to support a school bond.

Here's the vote breakdown:

Against - 7,553
For - 2,812

The WFISD Superintendent released this statement:

We understood from the beginning that this bond proposal would be an uphill battle because of the severe drought.  Nevertheless, because of the     upcoming bond debt roll off, we knew this was our one chance to upgrade our secondary facilities while also minimizing the financial impact on taxpayers.      As a result, we believed the voters deserved a choice.

A lot of people on both sides of this issue have worked very hard.  We appreciate their interest in our schools.  Hopefully, once our local water issues     are resolved, the community will come together in support of a bond to improve our facilities.
