Hearing Delayed For Duncan Murder Suspect

Posted: Updated:
A hearing has been delayed for a Duncan teenager charged in the fatal shooting of an Australian baseball player.

16-year-old James Edwards Junior was due in court Tuesday, but proceedings were delayed until June 17th. He is charged with First Degree Murder and Accessory After The Fact. Edwards is hoping that murder charge will be dropped. In March, Edwards agreed to testify against two other suspects, Michael Jones and Chancey Luna, for a lesser charge.

Lane was preparing for his senior baseball season at East Central University in August when he was shot along a tree-lined road in Duncan. Investigators say he was randomly targeted because the teens were bored.
