125,000 Gallons Of Water Was Donated To The Archer City Pool

WICHITA FALLS, TX - More than 125,000 gallons of water was donated to the Archer City pool. The city was looking hard at closing the pool this year due to the drought, but the community would not let that happen.

Kim Whitsitt, The Archer City Secretary said, “It was a collective effort between some concerned citizens of Archer City and the City itself to ensure children and families of the surrounding area would have use of this really nice facility.”

Archer City will celebrate their first day of operations tomorrow by letting Texomans enjoy their pool completely free.

The pool will open at 1 p.m. and city officials say the party will definitely be there.

“It's usually crazy,” said Whitsitt. “We usually have all hands on deck. All of our life guards, our managers and assistant managers will be there too.”

Whitsitt says the donors for this project wish to remain anonymous. She said their efforts were for the community and not for individual recognition.
