Juneteenth Celebration

Electra will hold the city's annual Juneteenth Celebration this weekend.

It's taking place on Saturday, June 21st at Electra City Park.

There will be a pie contest at 9:30 a.m. at the Community Center. The parade kicks off on E. Railroad Avenue at 10:00 a.m. and there will be a formal opening ceremony at 11:00 a.m. at Electra City Park. 

There will also be horse training demonstrations, arts and crafts booths, train rides, face painting and much more. BBQ brisket, BBQ ribs and fish dinners are available for a $7.00 dollar donation.

Juneteenth helps provide scholarships for local Electra students.
