Bowie's New Chief Of Police Promises To Tackle The City's Drug Problem

They City of Bowie has a new Chief of police. A ceremony was held for him to be sworn in and he promised the crowd in attendance that he would tackle Bowie's drug problem.

Guy Green, Bowie’s new police Chief wants the police force to be more pro-active. He says they'll be going full-force tackling the tougher issues of the city. The citizens of Bowie will be seeing much more of the police. 

“We’ll stop more cars,” said Chief Green. “Not necessarily write more tickets but stop more cars. Make more contacts and get out there and mingle with the public and see what we can do.”

The selection process went on for six months because the job description needed to be updated. City council then approved the description and officials say it also took some time to sift through more than fifty-two applications.
