Text, Talk, Crash Campaign

Posted: Updated:
TxDOT has launched their state wide "Text, Talk, Crash" campaign.

The goal of the campaign is to warn drivers about the dangers of distracted driving.  They are urging people to avoid multitasking while they are behind the wheel.  This doesn't just mean your cell phone.  Adele Lewis with TxDOT said it can include having your music up too loud or trying to eat.

Crashes related to distracted driving are highest among young adults between the ages of 16 and 24.

Last year just over 500 people in Texas were killed in distracted driving crashes.  Over 19,900 people were seriously injured.
