Bowie Chief Wants To Crackdown On Drugs

Posted: Updated:
The new Bowie Chief of Police has started a crackdown against drugs in the community. With the help of new training strategies, Chief Guy Green hopes to stop drug users once and for all.

"I don't feel like we're busting like we should," said Green.

This is why he and the police are planning on stepping up their game when it comes to drugs in the community.

Chief Green identified the city's drug problem when he was sworn in as police chief last week.

"With every town it's a constant battle to fight the drug problem," said Green. "That's what we want to do is start with the basics and increase our traffic enforcement."

Methamphetamine, marijuana, and prescription pills are Bowie’s biggest problems. Chief Green says he's looking into new training and intelligence programs to help stop criminals and put them behind bars.

He says he's not going to let drug users get away with these crimes anymore.
