Benefit for Joe Burton

Posted: Updated:
A benefit for Archer City’s Chief of Police, Joe Burton, is Sunday, June 29, 2014. The event is in the Archer City High School cafeteria, from 11a.m. to 1:30p.m.

They are serving catfish, chicken, and all the fixings. The food is prepared by Humpert  Hollar Crew.

The adult plates are $10.00 and children plates are $5.00. All proceeds will be used to help the cost of housing, transportation, and out of pocket expenses for the family.

There will be raffles, silent auctions, and drawings for door prizes for kids. There is also a special raffle for a 12 gauge shotgun.

Tickets are $5.00 each or five for $20.00. The drawing for the gun will be July 13. Tickets can be purchased at Natures Half Acre, and Archer City Feed Store.

Joe Burton is dealing with stage 4 colon cancer. At age 39 he was given four months to live, but he miraculously beat cancer. However, the cancer came back. Now, at age 41, Burton hopes to go to MD Anderson in Houston for treatment.

Friends and family are hoping to raise enough money to help him on this mission.  For more information or donations, contact Stacey Cannon at (940)696-0028.
