Scotland VFD Raises Money With Great Food

Sunday in Scotland, Texas a lot of people got some fantastic food and helped the Scotland VFD at the same time.

Volunteer firefighters held an open house and cookout. Wichita Falls firefighter and Thad & Paisley's Restaurant owner Fernando Rangel told our crew he was at the event for two reasons.

"What we're trying to do is, we are new to the community and we're trying to get out and support the community," said Rangel. "Get out and let them know we're here, and like I said, just trying to help them out also."

The proceeds will help cover the costs of upgrading the fire department's first responder truck used for emergencies. That truck plays a large role in what that VFD spends a lot of time doing, which is work motor vehicle accidents along and near Scotland.
