Dave Caulfield - KAUZ-TV: Newschannel 6 Now | Wichita Falls, TX

Dave Caulfield

Dave Caulfield joined the SKYWARN 6 Weather Team in June 2014.  He also reports for Newschannel 6.

He was born and raised in Hackensack, New Jersey.  The numerous snowstorms in the northeast peaked Dave’s interest in weather, but he realized he wanted to be a meteorologist in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina.

Dave graduated from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana in May 2014.  While at Valpo, Dave was inducted into Chi Epsilon Pi, the Meteorology Honor Society.  He also worked, and sometimes lived, at the campus television station where he was a Storm Shield News Meteorologist as well as a news anchor and correspondent.  He also interned with WGN-TV in Chicago and ABC News/Good Morning America in New York City.  These experiences gave Dave a look at the fast-paced environment of network news and weather and prepared him for a position in broadcast meteorology.

When Dave isn’t forecasting, he enjoys storm chasing across the Great Plains.  He is also a huge fan of the U.S. soccer teams. Additionally, he can be found watching reruns of “The Office” for the eighth time, laughing at a new comedy special, or sleeping. He loves meeting new people and promptly being asked about the weather.

Dave is very excited to be working and living in Wichita Falls, and keeping Texoma informed about the weather is his top priority.  If you have a story idea for Dave, email him at dcaulfield@kauz.com.
