Structure Fire In Wichita Falls

A home is destroyed due to a fire early Thursday morning.

Wichita Falls firefighters were called to the 1200 block of Austin Street a little after midnight Thursday.

Officials say by the time they got there the structure was engulfed in flames.

Nine units and 27 firefighters battled to get the blaze under control.

There was no one in the structure at the time of the fire.

A small fire was reported at the same house Wednesday, and put out before it spread.

Officials evacuated a limited amount of nearby homes because of heavy smoke.

The fire is deemed suspicious and currently under investigation.
