Officer Involved Shooting Suspect in Jail

The man involved in the second officer involved shooting in Wichita Falls this year is behind bars.

Roy Phillip Johnston was released from the hospital on Thursday night and was taken straight to jail.

One week ago Wichita Falls Police were called out to the Highpoint Village Apartments on Professional Drive for a domestic disturbance.  According to police, once officers arrived on the scene they could hear arguing from inside the apartment.  A woman answered the door, but the officer saw that Johnston was armed.  The woman was pushed out of the way and one officer fired his firearm and hit Johnston.

The 21-year-old was taken to United Regional and underwent surgery.

He is now charged with two counts of Attempted Capital Murder.
