Iowa Park City Officials Reopen Buffalo Lake To The Public

Residents near Buffalo Lake will soon be able to ride ATV's up and down the river bank once again.

Iowa Park city leaders voted unanimously at Monday night's city council meeting to reopen Buffalo Lake on weekends for recreational use.

City officials originally closed the lake bed when fishing and other water activities were no more after a majority of the lake had dried up.

But with the lack of people in the area on a regular basis, people began dumping illegally on the lake bed.

This played a part in the city commissioner's decision to reopen the lake bed.

The lake will now be open from 5:00 p.m. on Fridays until 9:00 a.m. in the morning on Mondays.
