Search Warrant Leads To Drug Arrest

A traffic stop puts a man behind bars, after police find drugs in his car and home.

On July 1st, Gilbert Briones was pulled over by A K-9 Unit for speeding.  The K-9 officer alerted the presence of narcotics in the car. A search was done and 9 plastic bags with a white powdery substance was found. Briones was arrested and taken to the Wichita County Jail.

The next day, the Wichita Falls Police Department Organized Crime Unit went to the home of Briones in the 5200 block of Love Road in Kamay and executed a search warrant.  There police found nearly 155 grams of cocaine hidden under a sink.  Police said they also found clear empty bags and digital scales in a case the drugs were found in.

More than $14,000 in cash was also found in a dresser.

Briones is charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Over One Gram Under Four Grams and Money Laundering.

He bonded out of the Wichita County Jail.
