Injury to a Child Arrest

A Wichita Falls man is behind bars accused of causing serious injury to a child.

Anthony Rangel was booked into the Wichita County Jail on Tuesday night. He is charged with Injury to a Child.

According to the arrest affidavit, the investigation started in May 2014 when the 3-year-old's grandmother took the child to the doctor with bruises on the stomach.  The pediatrician treated the child and then contacted Child Protective Services.

After investigators talked to the child, they figured out the victim was injured by shoe.    Investigators also said the child told a grandparent that Rangel was the one who did it.

The 24-year-old's bond has been set at $75,000.
