FAIRFIELD, Calif., July 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Industrial companies are choosing to locate in Fairfield, California, (pop. 107,684) because of its strategic location halfway between Sacramento and San Francisco, affordable commercial real estate prices, and an accessible, business-friendly city government.

"Prices for commercial and industrial space in Fairfield are significantly less expensive, and our building fees are one of the lowest in the Bay Area," says Karl Dumas, Fairfield's Economic Development Manager.  "City officials are accessible, supportive, and truly bring value to the deal."

Industrial businesses recently locating in Fairfield are Owen Equipment, one of the nation's top sewer cleaners and street sweeper dealerships, S&S Supplies and Solutions, a leading industrial supply distribution company, and SkyeFlex Technologies, a start-up manufacturer of an energy-efficient window treatment.

Owen Equipment moved its California location from Sacramento to Fairfield's Horizon Drive where it is now selling and leasing its equipment from a 17,000 square foot industrial space. The location includes several private offices and a conference room with a capacity for 70 people. In addition, the space offers opportunities for expansion.

Leading industrial supply distribution company, S&S Supplies and Solutions, has moved its headquarters from Martinez to Fairfield. The woman-owned company purchased a 100,000 square foot building at 2700 Maxwell Way, and is in the process of bringing more of its company to Fairfield with the consolidation of three of its operations.

SkyeFlex Technologies, which makes customized window treatments for residential and commercial customers, has signed a five-year lease on a 5,400-square foot industrial space at 1891 Woolner Avenue. The start up company expects to begin production in July.
