WANTED: Help For Izzy

Izzy Brogdon is 8-years-old. She has been having uncontrollable seizures and has been at Cooks Children’s Hospital for almost three months.

Izzy was put into an induced hypothermia coma to stop the seizures. Izzy is now home, thanks to answered prayers from families and friends.  The recovery from the coma has been very tough, and emotional.  Some members of the community are reaching out to help this family in need.

Sonny Ashley is an actor and talented poet. He recently released a new CD entitled Cowboy Poems by Sonny Ashley. It reveals 14 of his original poems, and in addition to being “cowboy” poems, most are spiritual as well.

The CD is $15, and every penny from that sale goes straight to the little girl and her family. For information on the CD contact Sonny Ashley at (940) 781-5019.

There is also another local fundraiser to help the little girl. They are rounding up barrel racers and team ropers for the “Run Rope & Rock It For Izzy” event.

It will be at the Wichita Falls AG Center July 25 & 26. Barrel Racing starts at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, and team roping begins at 10:00 a.m. Saturday. A concert will follow the team roping on Saturday night.

The event is free, and fun for the whole family. Saturday night concert tickets are $5, and will feature the band The Smokin’ Aces.

For more information and donations contact Jeannie Klump at (940)636-9158. You can also go to the Facebook page Praying For Izzy Brogdon.
