Drug Bust in Wichita Falls

A man is behind bars after being found in possession of drugs.

Wichita Falls Police said an officer noticed a Richard Colin Katende driving a little too fast on Friday night.  It happened around 10:30p.m. near the Loop 11 exit on Highway 287 East.

The officers pulled the 47-year-old over and asked to search the vehicle.  Wichita Falls K-9 arrived to the scene to do the search and the dog alerted on the vehicle.  Police said there was three duffle bags packed with marijuana in the trunk.  They also found hash at the bottom of the duffle bags.

In total police said there was 85 grams of hash and just over 40 pounds of marijuana.  They also seized over $10,100.

Katende is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Over 4 Grams Under 400 Grams.
