Dee Paul Chooses Tarleton State

Posted: Updated:

Former Munday Moguls star Dee Paul will transfer to Tarleton State, he said on Wednesday.

The quarterback who led the Moguls to the state title in 2012 announced he was transferring from Texas Tech last week.

Midwestern State, Angelo State and Abilene Christian were reportedly interested in Paul, who played defensive back at Tech but likely would be used as a wide receiver in Division II.

Paul also ran track for both Munday, where he won eleven state medals, and at Texas Tech his freshman season, but he told Newschannel 6 the fact Midwestern doesn't sponsor men's track did not play a major role in his decision. The other three schools he considered all do have men's track teams.

Paul was given a medical redshirt despite playing in three games for Texas Tech, but reportedly will have to sit out 2014 academically. It's unclear how that will affect what eligibility he'll have remaining in 2015.
