Neuse Named Wichita Christian Football Coach

Wichita Christian School has found their new head football coach, and he's been in Wichita Falls for a while.

The school told Newschannel 6 Dan Neuse will take over the reins of the Stars from former coach Kyle Davenport, who departed last week for Kirby Junior High.

Neuse was most recently a football, basketball and track coach at the former Zundy Junior High, but before that he was an assistant coach at Hirschi and at Midwestern State.

Back in the late 1980s he was a head coach at Del Rio High School out near El Paso and before that at Bandera High School near San Antonio, but this will be his first experience coaching six-man football.

The Stars open their season Saturday, August 30th with a 10 a.m. matinee against Patton Springs on a neutral field in Knox City. The Stars have beaten the Rangers in Knox City to start each of the past two seasons.
