WF Wildcats Announce Preseason Slate

The Wichita Falls Wildcats will take on the Lone Star Brahmas in two preseason exhibition games, it was announced Monday.

The Brahmas will host the Wildcats at the NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills on Saturday, Sept. 6 at a time to be announced. The two teams will meet again at the Kay Yeager Coliseum in Wichita Falls on Wednesday, Sept. 10, with puck drop slated for 7:05 p.m.

All tickets for the home pre-season game are general admission, and are available for $7.

In previous years, the Wildcats played their pre-season slate on consecutive nights. However, this year the coaching staff chose to split up the exhibition slate.

“By splitting up the games, it gives us a chance to test-drive a few things, so to speak,” Assistant Coach Chris Ceransky said. “We can come home after the first exhibition, spend a few days working on any adjustments we need to make and implement them before the second preseason game, all before playing an important game against a division rival to open the season.

Last year, Wichita Falls split a pair of contents with the Amarillo Bulls in pre-season, losing 2-1 on Sept. 6, 2013 before registering a 6-4 win the next night.

The Wildcats will open the 2014-15 season against the Odessa Jackalopes on Saturday, Sept. 13. All tickets for that game are available for free, and can be reserved by visiting the KYC box office. For group reservations of 15 or more, fans may contact the Wildcats office at (940) 716-5587.
