Project Back to School

Posted: Updated:
Many people in Texoma stayed cool today by attending the 5th annual Project Back to School Roundup at McNiel Jr. High.

There were free school supplies and backpacks for over 2,000 children who qualify for the free and reduced lunch program in all grades from head start to the 12th grade.

At the Roundup, there was also information about school and community services, free immunizations, sports physicals, vision and dental screenings.

For over 9,000 disadvantaged children in Wichita Falls, the beginning of school is a financial struggle and many families can't afford the school supplies their children need to begin school.

Project Back to School was created to help these children with their back to school needs, thanks to generous donations.
