Two People Dead After Plane Crash Near Bowie

Two people are dead in a plane crash in rural North Texas.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford said in an email to the Associated Press that a twin-engine Cessna 414 plane crashed Friday afternoon near Bowie.

DPS Officials told Newschannel 6 51-year-old Lawrence Liptack and 10-year-old Landon Liptack of Manvel, TX were the two victims killed in the crash.

It's not yet clear what caused the plane to crash.

Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were on the scene of the crash Saturday, August 16, to look at the crash scene. They are still investigating a cause.
