One Suspect In Custody After SWAT Incident

UPDATE at 8:05:


Police responded to an aggravated assault at the 5200 block of Tower Drive at 1:46 a.m. Monday morning. 

Police said a 38-year-old black male named Shaheed Abdul Muhammad got into an altercation with his 34-year-old girlfriend. He punched his girlfriend in the face then grabbed a knife and cut her elbow. The victim was treated on the scene. SWAT arrived after Muhammad barricaded himself inside the house. He was taken into custody shortly after their arrival.

The name of the victim has not been released.


UPDATE:


Police responded to an aggravated assault on Tower Drive at 1:46 a.m. Monday morning. Police said a woman was injured with a knife and the suspect barricaded himself inside a house. Swat arrived on the scene with a negotiator and the suspect was in custody shortly after their arrival. 


The names of the woman and the suspect have not been released. Public Information Officer, Sgt. Spraggins, said more information will be given once the suspect is booked in jail.
