Cloud Seeding Starting This Week

Newschannel 6 has just confirmed that cloud seeding operations for Wichita Falls will resume Thursday, August 26, 2014.

Newschannel 6 Brittany Costello spoke with Gary Walker with Seeding Operations and Atmospheric Research (SOAR) this morning. He said results from an analysis of cloud seeding operations from March to June shows the process helped provide the city with significant rainfall.

The city was expected to formally announce resuming operations a month early at it's next council meeting, but Newschannel 6 was able to confirm the information today.

Newschannel 6 Brittany Costello is getting interviews now. She will have the full story on Newschannel 6 First at Five and Newschannel 6 at 6.
