Help the WFISD Read2Learn Program

A non-profit organization called “Champions for Kids” is providing an easy way for Wichita Falls I.S.D. 2nd graders to win $20,000!

The Read2Learn program was selected as one of the seven finalists for a challenge laid out by the non-profit group.  Partners is education were the ones to submit the program in July.

If they are chosen as the winner, the program will receive $20,000!  Second place will get $15,000 and third place will receive $5,000.

All you need to do is cast your vote online for the Read2Learn Program.  You can vote every day until September 21st.  Then the winner will be selected on the September 22nd.

Wichita Falls I.S.D. created the Partners in Education Read2Learn program one year ago.  The homegrown program pairs volunteers with second-graders.  Each volunteer meets with the student once or twice a week to give them more reading practice.

After just one year, 350 Read2Learn volunteers invested 3,88—volunteer hours helping 196 kids on eight different campuses.  By the end of the school year, 90-percent of the kids were reading on their grade level.
