Traffic Stop Leads To A Drug Bust

 About 17 pounds of marijuana were seized during a Saturday morning traffic stop in Wichita County.

At around 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning, the Department of Public Safety Troopers stopped a vehicle for signs of criminal activity just south of Iowa Park on Highway 287.

When the K-9 unit arrived and searched the vehicle, two duffle bags of marijuana and three and a half grams of hash were found in the trunk.  The estimated total of the amount of drugs found is $74 thousand.

Both the driver, 21-year-old, Ruben Guzman and passenger, 21-year-old, Yousef Diab heading towards Arlington.

Guzman and Diab are in custody in the Wichita County Jail, charged with possession of marijuana.
