Texoma Congressman Mac Thornberry said that he and other members on Capitol Hill are working hard to shape a plan of action President Barrack Obama has asked for. That plan calls for a comprehensive ground and air attack. Thornberry said that those on the ground will most likely be Iraqis and Syrians themselves.
"We can supply the air power, but it's going to have to be other folks predominantly have the ground combat units that put the pressure on ISIL," said Congressman Thornberry.
If the country is going to train and equip the Iraqis and Syrians then the U.S. must make sure the plan won't backfire. Thornberry said that right now there are no good options or plans of action.
"What is the least bad option and what happens if you don't do anything and I think that's what the United States is facing right now," said Congressman Thornberry.
According to the Texoma congressman a plan will be ready for a congressional vote next week.
