Wichita Adult Literacy Council Spelling Bee

The Wichita Adult Literacy Council will hold its 18th annual Spelling Bee November 12. The spelling bee is a fundraiser for support literacy in Texoma. 


The spelling bee involves groups of three people. Those three people will work together to spell each word correctly. The spelling bee costs $500 to participate, sponsors for teams are recommended. 


Winners will get a plaque, but there will also be winners for the best spirit and best costume. 


For those who do not want to participate, but plan on attending, tickets cost $5. You can also purchase stingers for $15. With a stinger you can call out on any individual in the room to spell a word.

Where:  Region 9 Education Service Center, 301 Loop 11, Wichita Rooms

Why: to raise funds to support adult literacy in Texoma
