Man Arrested After Police Chase

WICHITA FALLS, TX - A police chase ended in the arrest of one man Thursday night.

Wichita Falls Police witnessed a drug transaction in the 1300 block of 32nd Street at about 10:00 p.m. Thursday night. They say the drug deal happened between 53-year-old Carl Walker and some pedestrians.

When Walker drove away, police tried to pull him over. But instead, he took off. Police chased him for several minutes. They say Walker went east and west on Speedway several times and even tried to run several officers off the road.

Walker's tire gave out on Miramar. The chase didn't stop there. He jumped out of the car, ran north and threw a gun. Police tased him and took him into custody.

Police found the gun. They also found methamphetamine in Walker's possession.

Walker is charged with Felony Evading in a Vehicle, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Aggravated Assault. He's being held in the Wichita County Jail.
