Rx Take Back Day

The Wichita Falls Police Department as well the Drug Enforcement Administration held Rx Take Back Day at the Walgreen's on Southwest Parkway in Wichita Falls.

The W.F.P.D. and the D.E.A. gave the public its ninth opportunity in four years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.

Texomans were able to bring their pills for disposal for free with no questions asked.

This initiative addresses a vital public safety and public health issue.

Last April, Americans turned in 390 tons (over 780,000 pounds) or prescription drugs at nearly 6,000 sites operated by the D.E.A.
