Enterovirus Hits North Texas

Health officials in Dallas County have confirmed 10 cases of the enterovirus-D68 after Dallas County Health and Human Services sent 35 samples to the Center for Disease Control for testing. 10 of the samples came back positive for the enterovirus. Six young patients were treated at Children's Medical Center and four more at the Medical City Children's.

In late August and early September, hospitals across the country reported a surge of cases. Doctors reported most of the cases involved young children and asthma patients.

Symptoms of the virus can include fever, runny nose, sneezing, cough, body and muscle aches.
