Game of the Week: Holliday at Henrietta

Our HomeZone Game of the Week for Week 7 will feature the Holliday Eagles visiting the Henrietta Bearcats in a District 2-3A Division II game.

The two teams are old rivals, with matchups listed on Lone Star Football Network going back to 1937.

Last year, Henrietta snapped a three-game Holliday winning streak in the series with a 34-13 win at home. The Eagles had won the previous three meetings by a combined score of 85-6 before Henrietta's win.

Both teams are 1-1 in district play so far, each defeating Nocona and losing to top-ranked Cisco. They each defeated the Indians comfortably, but their losses to Cisco were very different. The Eagles were blown out at home 54-7, but Henrietta played the Loboes to a 23-12 game on the road, holding the state's top-ranked team nearly 17 points below their season average. The game was 16-12 until late in the fourth quarter when Cisco scored to put it away.

Check back to this page as the week goes on to hear from both teams as we preview the game.

Kickoff Friday night is set for 7:30 p.m. in Henrietta, and you can see extended highlights at 10:30 on the Friday Night High School Football Update!
