Region 9 Appoints New Executive Director

The Region 9 Education Service Center Board of Directors have selected  Wes Pierce to serve as the new Executive Director beginning October 15, 2014.  

Having been employed at Region 9 ESC since 2005, Pierce is previously serving in various capacities, including Education Specialist, Director of Student Support Services, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and Deputy Executive Director.  Before his employment with Region 9, he served in several schools within the Region 9 area as a principal and teacher. 

He received his superintendent certification from Lamar University, a Master's degree with principal certification from Midwestern State University, and his Bachelor's degree from McMurry University. 

In North Texas, the Region 9 Education Service Center is located in Wichita Falls provides consulting services to thirty-eight area school districts and charter schools in a twelve county area to help them improve student performance, increase the efficiency and effectiveness of local school operations, and implement statewide initiatives and regulations.
