Archer City Celebrating Halloween Early

Halloween will come early for those who live in Archer City due to a decision made at the Archer City's City Council Meeting that occurred on October 16th.

Archer City  has recently designated Wednesday, October 29, 2014 as the official date to celebrate Halloween as opposed to Friday the 31st. Archer City Mayor Kelvin Green recommended observing Halloween on Wednesday  due to the Archer City Wildcat football game that Friday night.

Another contributing factor to the change is the First Baptist Church "Fearless Family Fun Night", that will also be held on the 29th at First Baptist Church from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. City officials felt that combining trick or treating with "Fearless Family Fun Night" made sense as it allowed the residents and parents to participate in Halloween without having to choose between attending the game and Halloween.
