Drug Bust Lands Two in Jail

Two men from the Metroplex were pulled over on Highway 287 near Wellington for what was initially a routine traffic stop, but it was their alleged cargo that got them into trouble.

DPS troopers say 36-year-old Marcus Russell, from Desoto, Texas, and 36 year old Corwein Williams, from Cedar Hill were arrested on Tuesday, after a K-9 alerted the troopers after detecting the odor of narcotics.

Troopers say they found hash oil, nearly 200 grams of 'hash', two bundles of high grade marijuana, and other items containing an active ingredient in marijuana inside the Chevy Malibu.

Both Russell and Williams are charged with Possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

Russell remains behind bars under a bond of more than $82,000.

Williams is no longer in the Wichita County Jail.
