MSU's Ruiz, Moore Earn LSC Honors

Moore Claims Second LSC Honor in Three Weeks

Midwestern State's Brenna Moore earned a second Lone Star Conference Golfer of the Week honor in three weeks Thursday, as released by league officials.

The senior from Burkburnett posted consecutive par-or-better scores to take second in the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday at the Fort Sill Golf Club in Lawton.

Moore notched her second and third rounds with a par-or-better score this season by logging a 72 and 71 for a total of 143 (-1) to tie co-LSC Golfer of the Week Isabel Jimenez-Perea (Tarleton State) for second place, closing six strokes behind tournament winner Ivon Reijers (138/-6) of Redlands CC (Okla.).

Moore's efforts helped the Mustangs to a third-place team showing.

Cameron's Dylan McClure claimed men's player of the week honors finishing second on the individual leader board with a 4-under total of 209 at the Midwestern State Invitational last weekend at the Wichita Falls Country Club. McClure's efforts were instrumental in leading the Aggies to the team championship.

Ruiz Earns Second LSC Honor

Midwestern State's Gabby Ruiz claimed her second Lone Star Conference Runner of the Week honor Thursday as announced by league officials.

The senior from Tulsa clocked a personal best 6K time of 22:20.00 to lead the 15th-ranked Mustangs to their second team meet win of the season Saturday in the MSU Cross Country Stampede.

Ruiz bettered her previous top 6K time ran at the NCAA Division II South Central Region Championship last season in Denver by 34 seconds.

It was her fourth Top-10 finish of the season.

Midwestern State competes in the ECU Tiger Chase Saturday morning in Ada, Okla.
