Police Search For Shooting Suspect

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Dante Arthur.     

Wichita Falls Police Officer Jeff Hughes said a shooting occurred around 7:00 p.m. Friday night near 14th & Burnett in Wichita Falls.  Arthur flagged down a patrol officer who was doing is rounds in the area.  He told the officer he was shot in the chest by a Hispanic male.

Arthur was rushed to United Regional for treatment, but Officer Hughes said it doesn't appear to be life threatening.

The suspect is still on the loose and police are still working to find out what happened.  The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, with hair to his shoulders and dark black clothes.  He was last seen on 13th and Burnett heading east.  Officer Hughes said the weapon was recovered.


He said the victim had an altercation with the suspect earlier Friday night and left the scene.  However, when he went back, that's when he was shot.
