Shooting on Sheppard Access Road Sends One to the Hospital

The Wichita Falls Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 2400 block of Sheppard Access Road around 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.

The suspect, Jewel Fletcher, a black make, took off in a black Ford pickup truck with black and silver aftermarket rims and a silver strip on the tailgate being driven by an unknown person.  Police are not sure what direction they were going.

Multiple gunshots were fired and the victim, Cecil; Hindman, was rushed to the hospital with two gunshot wounds to the torso.  We are working to get any information on his condition.

Investigators were on the scene for several hours gathering evidence and information.  This included, bullet casings, tire tracks, blood, and anything that would help them put the pieces together.  The weapon used has not been recovered. 


According to officials, an altercation happened between the victim and the suspect.  When things escalated, the suspect pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots.  Two of the shots fired hit the victim.

Police are still searching for the suspect. A warrant has been issued for Fletcher's arrest for Aggravated Assault with a $500,000 bond
