Make Sure You're Prepared For Wintry Weather

Sunday's wintry mix has left Texoma, but now is the best time for you stock up on your winter gear.

That's everything from ice scrapers to de-icing material, heaters and even firewood.

Many Texoma shoppers, like Tim Sanders had ice on his car early Monday morning.

“I had ice on the car and had ice going to the car," said Sanders.

Many Texomans like him were at hardware stores on Monday around Wichita Falls.

“Most people wait ‘til the last minute when they see the weather come before they actually come in to purchase stuff,"said sales specialist at Lowe's Home Improvement, Mike Sharp.

The same was said at another hardware store across town.

“This morning people have been coming in to buy the ice melt.  We've had a few people coming up," said Lumber Manager at Sutherlands, Kalen Laughlin

Laughlin also said that now is the time to be prepared before the next batch of wintry weather hits.

“The best time is to really plan ahead.   If you see that the weather is looking slick, it's better to have it than not need it," said Lauglin.
