Burkburnett's Anderson Signs with Houston Cross Country

Burkburnett Cross Country star Kody Anderson signed a National Letter of Intent Wednesday to run for the University of Houston!

Anderson is a three-time district champion, a two-time regional champion and holds silver and gold state medals, including winning the Class 4A State Title this past fall!

He said he was drawn to Houston initially by their head coach, Steve Magness, who was a high school and college star, running a 4:01.02 mile that ranks as the 7th-best high school time in U.S. history.

Anderson said the adjustment from high school, where major boys' races are primarily 5k distances, to college, where men's races are typically 10k, will be a big one, but he's confident he'll be able to succeed.
