Fantasy of Lights Set To Open This Holiday Season

Wichita Falls, TX -  If the chilly temperatures was not a sign that Christmas is near, then the opening of Texoma holiday tradition might just bring some cheer.

MSU Burns Fantasy of Lights display opens up Monday night at 6 p.m. on the Hardin Lawn of Midwestern State University.

"We have three of our displays that we refurbished this year: Flipper, Dumbo and our skaters table. And they look fantastic," said Joey Greenwood, Coordinator of Fantasy of Lights."The Carrigan Career Center did a great job on those for us."

Last year, Fantasy of lights introduced two new displays for the first time in nearly a decade.

"A Toys Christmas" was donated by the Ernst family of Wichita Falls and the non-profit that runs Fantasy of Lights purchased a Nutcracker carousel using donations.

"We depend solely on donations. So we ask that the community donate funds different ways. In our dropboxes, through our campaigns each year where we ask for donations from our community," said Greenwood.

He said without the community and the Burns family starting this holiday tradition none of this would be possible.

The displays will be open to the public from November 24 through December 28.
