Wichita County Commissioners Discuss Bids For New Sheriff Vehicles

The need for new Sheriff's vehicles was on the agenda Monday morning at the Wichita County Commissioners meeting.

The county rotates Sheriff's vehicles and felt like some needed to be replaced.

County Commissioners looked at 10 bids from car dealerships both locally and other parts within the state, but it will be about two weeks before a decision is made.

"I allowed a minimum of two weeks to look at it because there may be some calling and clarification to be made and with this being a short work week, there's people out of pocket both here and at those businesses that we'd be calling," said Wichita County Judge, Woody Gossom.

The County Commissioners will be comparing the 10 bids to the state's pre-bid prices to make sure they are getting a good deal for county tax dollars.
