Firefighters Douse Flames in Comanche County

Comanche County- A long Monday morning for volunteers from several fire departments following a large grass fire in eastern Comanche County.

It happened near Trail Road, near Mountain View and Rogers Lane. Crews from Valley View, Cox's Store and Flower Mound volunteer departments were called out to fight the flames just after 1 a.m.

They say when they first arrived, the fire was about eight acres in size, but updated reports now say it grew to around 100-acres. There was some concern because it was burning near several oil tankers. Crews had it under control at about 2 a.m. More than an hour later they were still working to contain hot spots.
