Target became a target this afternoon after it received a bomb threat threatening its safety.
Around 11:35 a.m. Target received a phone call from an unknown person, the person stated that there was a bomb inside the building, and then immediately hung up. The building was quickly evacuated as the Wichita Falls Police Department and the Wichita Falls Fire Department arrived at the scene.
The WFPD and WFFD searched the building, but found nothing.
After the building was cleared, Target allowed their employees inside first and informed them about being alert for things that look out of the ordinary. Customers were allowed back inside the building shortly afterwards.
The bomb threat caused Target to be closed for about 45 minutes. The person who called in the threat is still unknown.
