Fort Sill Soldier Sentenced at Court Martial

PFC Jason A. Close faced a General Court Martial on Monday, December 8th, at Fort Sill.  He was accused of violating Articles 120, 215, and violating Article 134 four times.

Article 120: Rape and sexual assault generally.
Article 125: Sodomy.
Article 134: Adultery, Assault-with intent to commit rape, sodomy.

PFC Jason Close is accused of raping a person under the age of 12 on different occasions between December 26, 2006 to January 5, 2007. He was also accused of knowingly and wrongfully possessing child porn, and of committing an indecent act upon a female under the age of 16 on different occasions between December, 2006 and January, 2007.  

On December 10, 2014, a military judge found PFC Close guilty of two specifications of possession of child pornography.

The military judge sentenced PFC Close to reduction to E-1, forfeiture of all pay and allowance, confinement for two years, and a Dishonorable Discharge.

    New technology is on final approach at Sheppard Air Force Base it is coming to train airmen. On Thursday, SAFB hosted a technology summit where the main focus was to develop virtual reality and augmented reality to supplement the current pilot training program. Air Force Director of Training Operations Dr. Lynn List said SAFB was the hub for the idea since it is the largest training base in the command.
