Murder Suspect Back in Custody

DURANT, Okla.- The man suspected of a murder in Lawton, who escaped from prison, is back in custody.

Police in Durant, Oklahoma, arrested Robert Long Thursday afternoon. A train conductor noticed someone on top of his train around 5:00 p.m., and contacted Durant police. They told him to stop the train at the next possible location, and that's where police arrested Long without a struggle.

Police said Long was wearing civilian clothes over his jail jumpsuit. He was reported missing from a minimum security prison in McAlester Tuesday night after their 10:00 p.m. headcount.

Just five days before that, prosecutors in Comanche County charged him with the murder of Johnny Allen in Lawton. Allen was shot to death in March of this year during a robbery at a local motel. Long had been serving time on a drug charge at the time of his escape. He was expected to be taken from the Bryan county jail, back to the prison in McAlester Thursday night.
